About
Dr. Ibrahim Nasir
MBBS, MRCS, MACS — Plastic, Reconstructive, Microvascular, Aesthetic and Hand Surgeon.
A surgical training built deliberately across disciplines — general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery and ophthalmology — before narrowing into plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery.
Dr. Ibrahim Nasir Idrees is a Plastic, Reconstructive, Microvascular, Aesthetic and Hand Surgeon based in Islamabad. He trained in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) — one of the largest tertiary-care teaching hospitals in the country and a national referral centre for complex reconstruction, trauma and burns.
In the plastic surgery unit there he worked through a high-volume caseload of over a thousand procedures, ranging from microvascular free flaps, trauma and burn reconstruction and hand and peripheral-nerve surgery through to aesthetic work on the face, breast and body — operating, running clinics and the on-call reconstructive service, and supervising junior trainees alongside clinical audit and quality-improvement work.
That focus sits on top of a broad surgical grounding. Before specialising he completed core surgical rotations in general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery and urology at PAF Hospital Islamabad and PIMS, earlier surgical training in ophthalmology, and a medical foundation year covering cardiology, rheumatology and general medicine. The breadth was intentional — a working knowledge of the disciplines a reconstructive surgeon has to collaborate with, from orthopedic trauma to head and neck oncology.
His particular interest is in microvascular reconstruction and hand surgery: moving tissue with its own blood supply to rebuild defects after trauma or cancer, and restoring function to the hand and upper limb after injury. He has completed dedicated microsurgery and flap-reconstruction training with Resurge International, and continues to take structured hand and microsurgery courses.
He holds an MBBS from Federal Medical & Dental College, Islamabad, and has passed the membership examinations of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS) and the American College of Surgeons (MACS). He is working towards Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) in Plastic Surgery, having already cleared the FCPS intermediate module in general surgery.
Recognized & Registered
Dr. Nasir's qualifications and standing are recognized across the surgical bodies of four countries. He is a licensed medical practitioner with the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom, the Irish Medical Council and the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons (PAPS) — the national professional body for the specialty — whose annual conference, PAPSCON, he attends regularly.
His training and practice run through Pakistan's teaching-hospital system: graduate of Federal Medical & Dental College, and currently at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, with prior posts across PAF Hospital Islamabad and other tertiary units. Between them, these institutions cover the full arc of a plastic surgeon's training — undergraduate medicine, core surgery, the college examinations, and specialist reconstructive practice.
He speaks English, Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Arabic and Hindi, and shares cases and updates on social media, where you are welcome to follow along or send a direct message.
