Before-and-after photos are one of the most useful ways to understand what breast augmentation can achieve — as long as you know how to read them, and understand what scarring to realistically expect.
What to Look For in Photos
Reliable before-and-after sets use the same pose, arm position, and lighting in both images — differences in posture alone can make results look more or less dramatic than they really are. It's also worth viewing multiple angles rather than just one flattering shot.
Results Depend on Your Starting Anatomy
Implant size, your existing breast tissue, chest wall shape, and skin elasticity all shape the final result. A result achieved on someone with different anatomy isn't a reliable prediction of your own outcome.
What to Expect From Scarring
Incision placement and resulting scars depend on the surgical approach chosen, and are planned to be as inconspicuous as possible. Scars typically fade considerably over the first year but, as with any surgical incision, don't disappear completely.
