Blepharoplasty Before and After: What Results Typically Look Like
Blepharoplasty before-and-after results typically show a more open, refreshed appearance around the eyes — less heaviness in the upper lid, less puffiness below, and a generally more alert, rested look.
What Changes
- Reduced hooding or heaviness of the upper eyelid
- Reduced puffiness or bagginess under the eyes
- A more open, alert appearance to the eyes overall
Healing Timeline
Bruising and swelling are most noticeable in the first 1–2 weeks, with sutures typically removed within the first week. Most patients feel comfortable returning to social activities within 10–14 days, though subtle final settling continues for several weeks beyond that.
Scarring
Incisions are placed within the natural eyelid crease or just below the lash line, which is one of the reasons blepharoplasty scars are typically very well concealed once healed, even in bright light or up close.
